Sparta Equity To Host Wisconsin’s First Badger VAC 45 Feeder Sale

Thursday, October 23, 2008 7:34 AM CDT

Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association’s Sparta market is hosting

Wisconsin’s first pre-conditioned Building Added Demand and Generating Enhanced Revenue with Value Added Cattle weaned 45+ days (BADGER VAC 45) sale on Friday, Nov. 28.

BADGER VAC 45 is a uniform system for producers to work together to access the widest possible market regardless of the size of their operation. Animals within this inaugural sale must be owned by the seller for at least 60 days, be weaned for at least 45 days and weigh at least 300 pounds.

Sellers need to be Wisconsin Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certified. Vaccines and boosters also need to have been administered and animals need to be identified by an official BADGER VAC 45 ear tag.

Anyone interested in learning more about the program can contact Rod Knudtson at 608-269-3104.
