Holstein Wins Junior Dairy Show at State Fair Agri-View: Dairy News

Editorial Intern

The largest junior dairy show in the world took place last week at the Wisconsin State Fair. Over 700 youth from around the state exhibited over 900 head of dairy cattle. This year’s supreme champion went to the Holstein, Fischerdale Morty Jelly, owned by Ben Sarbacker of Verona. The Brown Swiss, Triangle Acres Pro Bucky, exhibited by Amber Boeke of Juda took reserve supreme champion.

In the Ayrshire show Gibbs Conn Tahiti shown by John Langel of McFarland took the grand champion honors. The Brown Swiss show was won by Triangle Acres Pro Bucky exhibited by Amber Boeke. Prairie Cream Tiller Skittles owned by Kirstie Langrehr of West Salem won grand champion of the Guernsey show. The grand champion Holstein honors went to Fischerdale Morty Jelly owned by Ben Sarbacker of Verona. In the Jersey show, Butterfield Karma Precious shown by Danny Peirick, was named grand champion. Easter Brook O Mailan, exhibited by Zachary Damrow from Juneau, was honored with the grand champion of the Milking Shorthorn show.

A new showmanship layout was tried for the first time. There were 550 youth that participated in showmanship n estimated to be the world’s largest junior showmanship competition. The champion showman award was taken home by Erin Jens of Waldo; this was Erin’s final year showing at the Wisconsin State Fair. Reserve champion showman honors went to Mackenzie Sarbacker from Verona.
